Bloghttp://baywatchboy.com/blog/Sun, 12 Feb 2012 05:52:00 +0000en-USSquarespace Site Server v5.11.81 (http://www.squarespace.com/)PerspectivecelebritymiscBaywatchboySun, 12 Feb 2012 05:42:20 +0000http://baywatchboy.com/blog/2012/2/11/perspective.html508803:5820372:14995368Today was kind of a weird day.  I woke up with a game plan in mind for the day that was quickly changed.  I had planned on going to an open house as part of my continued search for a new place to live.  That was blown out of the water when I was called into work to help with a rare Saturday session.  I got dressed and went to get in my car and head to work, but discovered my roommate had parked behind me last night.  Not a big deal I thought as I know where his spare key is and I wouldn't have to wake him up.  Of course, there was something wrong with the remote and I had to wake him up.  Felt bad about that.  Got to work and realized that I had a nice BBQ stain on my pants.
I ran out to get a much needed haircut, then back to the office for a little more work.  I ran home and took a quick shower (always needed after a haircut) and headed to Beverly Hills.  I was going to Sprinkles Cupcakes as Jennette McCurdy was there for charity.  Sprinkles was donating proceeds from sales to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.  I thought that was a good reason to go.  The fact that Jennette was there was an added bonus. She is definitely one of my most favorite people that I've met since moving to LA.  Not only is she talented, but she has a good soul.
As I was driving home I heard the news that Whitney Houston had died.  Seriously?  She died?  Definitely a tragic event.  I'm not the biggest Whitney fan, but is definitely one of the top talent of my generation.  As too often is the case, a wonderfully talented person dies too early. Here I thought my day started off crappy because I had to go into work and had a stain on my jeans, but as someone who has lost so much when it comes to family, you quickly realize that some things are so minor in the grand scheme, that they just really don't matter.  I feel for Whitney and her family, the same way I feel for all the troops that have been lost and their families.  It's a shame that it takes a tragedy to put things in perspective.
